Last weekend marked another successful trip to the annual SGC International Conference, this year in Portland, Oregon.
There was lots to see, good panel discussions, demonstrations, and art!
Many demos and portfolios were in the new PNCA building…
Always great Nathan Meltz, giving a demo about intentionally glitching a digital image…
Taryn McMahon, a dynamo printmaker, getting her project started with Ellie Honl and Alison Filley…
James Rosenquist retrospective…
Installation…
Really enjoying Andrew Kozlowski’s recent prints…
Over at Portland State, a conductive ink demonstration organized by Erik Waterkotte…this one was very impressive…color changing ink based on current and heat…very cool!
The Portland Museum of Art was really impressive! Deceptive looking from the outside, once inside the museum, it just kept going and going…
There was a really great local exhibition 2016 Contemporary Northwest Art Awards…some very impressive artwork! Samantha Wall on the right and (I think) Dana Lynn Louis on the left…
Lead Pencil Studio (Annie Han and Daniel Mihalyo)…
New Kenny Scharf installation…
Photographs of the NYC art scene in the 1980’s by Paige Powell…
And some works in the permanent collection…a classic Claes Oldenburg…
