It is a combination of imagery from an old “Tales of Suspense” comic, art by Jack Kirby, and text from a Charles Atlas ad from the 1960’s as well. The portfolio is about the promise of better living through advertising and commercial products. When I was looking into these Charles Atlas ads that promised to turn any weakling into a superhuman, I realized that the Captain America story is essentially the same as the Charles Atlas promise. So combining the two just made sense.
