WVU Visual Arts Academy…

So great to get back to teaching print workshops for kids! Just completed a two day workshop for the WVU Visual Arts Academy day camp. Back to finding more ways of introducing printmaking to younger artists and kids in general!

We printed t-shirts using our “WVU Printmaking” logo on the front. On the back, we printed a collage of self portrait drawings from the students and councilors.

We printed a collage of drawings in cyan, magenta, and yellow to get more experience with screen printing and color layering.

To get students experience on the press, we inked up our pre-cut acrylic flower shapes in cyan, magenta, and yellow. Students were able to make a bunch of mopnotypes and consider composition and color mixing.

it felt SO good to have all this activity in the shop again…big thank you to WVU students Spencer, Kennedy, and Emma who helped out a ton!
