On Monday April 03, I was asked to talk to 4th graders at Mylan Park Elementary School about being an artist and printmaker during their Career Week.
The school had an entire week filled with speakers talking about their careers as engineers, doctors, first responders, scientists, everything! So it was a lot of pressure, but also a lot of fun to be the artist in the group.
I loved the questions and comments that students had once I was done telling them what I do for a living. I printed a quick linoleum block for them, and apparently I had ink on my nose for most of the talk which one very brave fourth grader told me about. My favorite comment from a student was “So you get paid to be happy?”…yes I do!
