New Fall 2011 WVU/AIR Interns!

It’s September, which means it’s time to get the new interns ready for their time at AIR. Last Friday, we headed up to Pittsburgh for the official start of the semester.

The WVU Printmaking Program has been providing internships at Artists Image Resource since 2004. Our students are given the run of the place, at least once a week, for the Fall semester.

Last year’s internship ended with an exhibition. It was the first time WVU interns (Kasey Kesner and Aaron Williams) were given such an opportunity, and it was HUGELY successful!

While at AIR, students split their time between using AIR’s facilities to make their own work and helping AIR’s master printers print production runs. Students get the chance to meet and work with professional artists from all over the country. I am really proud of this program, and appreciate the support from AIR’s Director Robert Beckman and the WVU Division of Art & Design. Thank you all, and let’s have a great semester!

Work in progress.

Who wouldn’t want to see local bands playing TMBG covers????

Every first day at AIR ends with a meal at MAX’s…REAL GOOD GERMAN FOOD! Just around the corner.

Happy campers…

Potato pancake turkey sandwich with sweet potato fries…

Bavarian club sandwich with spatzels…

It all ended with a big piece of Black Forest Chocolate Cake…
