Back in Illinois (part THREE)…

Over Thanksgiving Break, I was able to visit and catch up with a few people in Peoria and Chicago.

On Wednesday, November 25 I visited the Heuser Art Center at Bradley University to catch up with some old friends and see Alex Martin’s third semester graduate exhibition.

The Heuser Art Center, there were no classes on Wednesday so the campus was really quiet…

I walked around the building and looked in the studios..I spent A LOT of time in the painting studio…I had the back left corner my senior year…

IMG_0332

An old painting of mine still hanging in the studio…which is totally crazy…

I met Oscar and Alex up in the printshop on the third floor…this is the graduate studio…

IMG_0334

Alex’s studio is Oscar’s old office/studio…A TON of space for a graduate student, he’s really lucky!

We made it down to the gallery to see Alex Martin’s show “They Ask Why”

Alex has bee working with overheard conversations and found objects…

IMG_0352

Overall the show looks great, but there are some really special moments like this piece…a print reflected in a mirror to make more language…
