Every so often, Dr. Janet Snyder, Art History Professor at WVU, offers a “studio for Art Historians” class.
This class allows Art History majors to visit the different studios at the School of Art and Design, learn more about different process, and get the chance to make something too. This year, Dr. Snyder’s class came to the printshop to learn about relief. We looked at a lot of examples of relief from both professionals and students, we talked about the process, editioning, we watched a video about Bill Fick, and made some prints, it was a fantastic time. Dr. Snyder’s class is such a wonderful idea and opportunity for her students.
Printing has begun…nervous energy abound!
The first pull of the class!
