Friday, I checked in with students at North Elementary to see how their research was progressing.
I was SUPER impressed! Kids were ready with research about birds, their habitats, and other useful information. We also had time for me to pass out sketchbooks to everyone. I talked about how artists keep and use sketchbooks. It was really fun to see some many kids starting to draw!
Something I was NOT prepared for today, actually leading a discussion about birds?!? Like I said, LOTS of information from these kids!
Immediately, everyone started drawing in their sketchbooks…a great example of what we talked about in class, taking notes and using drawing as a method for understanding and memory.
